Food Ministry
DID YOU KNOW? On April 30, 1997 , the Catholic Community of Anderson initiated a soup kitchen
outreach to “In As Much” Free Food Kitchen. The food for this outreach was donated by the
parishioners of St. Ambrose and St. Mary’s Churches. Approximately 175 individuals were served
soup, crackers, fruit, and cheese. Since that date, the Christian Center Rescue Mission and the
Mustin Shelter for Women and Children have been included in this outreach. We are now serving
12-13 meals a month at these three sites. Over 450 men, women, and children are fed. We still
collect food once a month. The amount of food received has not increased much over these six
years, in fact it has decreased. We have survived only through generous financial donations.
Please consider participating in this very important ministry to the hungry.
1. Watch for the Monthly shopping list.
2. Purchase a food item and place it in the “Soup Kitchen” Basket the last Sunday of each
month.
